Data and Privacy

Neogi Software (hereby referred to as "Neogi"), a sole proprietorship software company from Aritra Neogi, operates the following applications: Cares U, Ingrace Browser, Question Maker AI, StarSlate and Yesmam, as well as neogi.in and all associated subdomains (collectively, "Neogi Products"). This policy explains how Neogi Products collect, use, and process user data on interaction. By using Neogi Products, users consent to the processing of their data as outlined in this policy, both in its current form and as it may be amended by Neogi. 1. Data Collection

Refers to data collected while using Neogi Products. Data collection done by Neogi and third-parties are dealt differently. Neogi is not responsible for data collected by third-parties.

1.1. Personal Data

Personal data is collected while account creation, form submission and assistance. Personal data includes identifiers like name, email address, phone number, address as well as health information and location data.

1.2. Non-Personal Data

Non-personal data is collected during prolonged product usage, for genuinity verification, experience improvement and machine learning model training. Non-personal data may include but not limited to device information like device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, IP address, usage data like views, clicks, behaviours and miscellaneous text inputs.

1.3. Financial Data

Financial data is collected and managed by third-party payment system. Google Play Billing and Apple In-App Purchase system is present in Neogi Products in respective operating systems. Refer to respective privacy policies of payment system providers for more information.

2. Data Processing

Refers to use of collected personal and non-personal data by Neogi. Third-party use of collected data is mentioned as data sharing in the next section (3).

2.1. Core Functionality

The collected data is used to maintain core functionality of respective Neogi Products. It can be used for account information management, genuinity verification and necessary assistance. The data is processed in remote sites and fetched when required. The data associated with core functionality of Neogi Products is handled under automated processes.

2.2. Improvement

The non-personal data may be used improve Neogi Products which include using data to improve user experience, suggestions, personalized recommandations and interface simplification. The data is mostly processed ephemerally on device, in certain scenarios it might be processed in remote sites under automated processes.

2.3. Artificial Intelligence

Certain non-personal data might be used for training of insourced machine learning models, to be used across Neogi Products to curate user experience, suggestions and interfaces. The data is processed in remote sites and might be evaluated under human controlled processes.

3. Data Sharing

Refers to sharing of collected data to third-party service providers or authorities for processing. Third-party service providers may be employed to facilitate Neogi Products, perform product related services and to assist how Neogi Products are used. The data is shared when required, no data is sold or exchanged. Refer to respective privacy policies of third-party service providers for more information.

3.1. Storage and Analytics

Personal and non-personal data might be shared to storage providers including but not limited to Google Firebase, Google Drive, for account details storage and management.

3.2. Advertisement

Non-personal behavioural data might be shared to advertisement partners including but not limited to Admob, for displaying personalized ads. Non-personalized ads may be shown in certain regions according to privacy laws.

3.3. Artificial Intelligence

Non-personal data might be shared with remote artificial intelligence models managed by third-party service providers for complex text generation and analytical tasks. The service provider include OpenAI and ZhipuAI.

3.4. Legal

The collected data might be shared to regulatory authorities when required by law, regulation, or legal process.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Data is retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, including complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing the policies. Personal data will be considered for deletion on direct request from users via email.

5. Data Transmission

Neogi Products require negligible personal data and large portion of data collected via Neogi Products are processed on device, ensuring safety and secrecy. Industry-standard security protocols such as end-to-end encryption, secure data transmission (SSL/TLS), and access control are used to secure the personal data processed over remote sites. Necessary algorithms are developed to prevent breach of data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely safe, and absolute security cannot be guranteed.

6. User Privacy Rights

User rights related to data collection, data processing and data sharing include access to copy of collected personal data by Neogi, correction of inaccurate or outdated information, deletion of personal data under certain circumstances, objection to data processing or data sharing and opting out of targeted advertising and marketing communications.

Neogi Product users can exercise the mentioned rights by contacting directly through support site or email. Requests are considered in accordance with respective regional laws.

7. International Data Transfers

Depending on the nature of collected data (that is, personal or non-personal), the data may or may not be processed in the region where user is located. When required, certain data is transferred to sites and servers in India for processing. The data can be accessed from Neogi Products regardless of user's location. Neogi complies with legal frameworks regarding international data transfers.

8. Age Restriction

Neogi Products does not address anyone under the age of 13 and Neogi does not solicit personal data from or market to children under the age of 13. If personal data of children under the age of 13 is found, Neogi is supposed to immediately delete the data from all sites and servers. Parents and guardians are requested to inform Neogi about any such cases via support site or email.
